Environment Minister leaves warning about disposable products
It was at the conference "The future of plastics" that João Matos Fernandes launched a challenge to the scientific community, saying "it does not make sense to have products and use disposable products made from indestructible materials."
"As plastic is so important in society, it is important to take another path, a way of simplifying its own uses," he said, warning that "innovation must be made in the construction of new materials."
"Never stop thinking about the fate that these new materials can have, because we can, with good intentions at the beginning, create a problem in the end", warned the Minister of the Environment who also called for the citizens' responsibility: "The minimum I can demand of myself is to be responsible for the packaging that comes into my house.
