Italian brand develops clothing made of milk
The concept of ecological clothing made from milk gives a whole new perspective on a product that is often wasted. This was the inspiration of Antonella Bellina, the Italian creator behind this concept.
"One day I was going to have breakfast, I opened the refrigerator and I saw an out-of-date package of milk." And that's where the light came in.
Instead of throwing away the milk, why not turn it into a fiber? That was how DueDiLatte was born" said Antonella.
So what exactly is the process?
The milk is heated, the citric acid separates the serum from the protein, known as casein. Once dried, it is transformed into powder which, in turn, is reconfigured into fiber.
The manufacture does not contain any chemical ingredient. One quart of water is enough to produce one pound of fiber, while the same amount of cotton requires at least 50 liters.
